Most recently I spent 10+ years as the education director for Abilities Expo, the leading provider of consumer shows for the disability community in North America. I created robust, whole person education programs for the disability community, with content ranging from complex medical information, to employment, housing, fitness, sports, dance, and play. Each year I planned programs for 6-8 shows with 30+ programming elements per show.
I'm also a nationally recognized expert in the planning of conferences and events for the disability community. I planned my first disability event in 1993, and since then have planned multiple disability conferences and events per year for all types of disabilities. My experience includes both the hotel and meeting planning sides of the equation. In 2013 I was one of only two project advisors selected by the ADA National Network to assist in authoring the Guide to Planning Accessible Meetings, Conferences, and Events (it's a totally awesome guide, check it out to help ensure your events are accessible to everyone).
I've been a small business owner since 2004. I've made mistakes and I've had some pretty cool successes.
I have produced CEU education for multiple health profession fields and I follow the functional and integrative medicine communities closely. Once upon a time I managed the content for 33 websites with 8,000 pages combined (that was quite the job). I also helped grow a company's email marketing list from zero to over 4.5 million (in fairness they had a great brand and our team helped it grow with best practices). Additionally I'm deeply experienced in all segments of the disability community.
My background has ensured expertise in content development, digital marketing, planning and strategy for small businesses, and subject matter expertise in health, wellness, and disability.
As one of my clients said recently, "I work with you because you know how to do ALL of this!" And I do know a lot of it. I also know how to teach you all of it (my bachelors degree is in education), and I stay on top of how things are changing and developing (I'll teach you how to do that too!)
I don't do it all by myself. Part of what helps me serve you well are my colleagues in the content marketing space. I'm always talking with them and learning from their expertise.
When you work with me you'll find I frequently refer you to other experts for specialized services. I'm picky and the people I work with are the very best at what they do, including website designers and developers, social media advertising specialists, graphic designers, photographers, and writers. We would love to help you grow your business or non-profit. Give us a call and discover how easy and fun it can be!"
