Highlights of Sarah’s Experience
13+ years and over 100 shows producing the program and education content for the largest disability shows in North America – Abilities Expo (2007 to 2018 and 2021 to 2024).
I am the founder and owner of the meeting planning firm Meeting Well, LLC which specialized in providing accessible meetings services to the disability community both nationally and internationally from 2009 to 2018. Prior to Meeting Well, LLC I co-owned JENSAR Associates, a meeting planning and communications company, from 2004 to 2008, also providing accessible meetings services to disability organizations in the Mid-Atlantic United States.
From 1992 to 2001 I was the point person at the most accessible hotel in the United States, the Hilton Harrisburg. During this time I managed the four largest events for people with disabilities held to date, oversaw the details for hundreds of smaller meetings and trainings for the community, and developed in conjunction with the hotel’s management team the myriad of operational details and training necessary to serve the disability community.
I serve the disability community and I have also been a member. I have Celiac Disease and prior to my diagnosis at age thirty-seven I experienced nineteen years of near-daily pain with several episodes each year of extreme pain and reduced mobility. While my condition ultimately proved to be something that could be resolved with a strict no-gluten diet – my experiences with temporary disability connect me personally to the impact of disability on individual people’s lives.
